We love that people have numerous bucket lists nowadays. You can have a travel bucket list, a family bucket list and even a summer holiday bucket list. But increasingly, we’re seeing couples with combined bucket lists, so we thought we’d create a bunch of bucket list holidays for them to enjoy together.

And because things are so uncertain on the international travel front right now, the holidays are all right here ‘at home’ in Australia.

*While travel restrictions are constantly changing, it’s hard to know what the next few months will look like. We recommend following the guidelines from the Australian Government and also reading our guide ‘How to Travel Safely During Coronavirus’.

Relax on a wine country retreat

Wondering why wine regions are such popular places for couples to go on holiday? It’s because there are few things more romantic than wine. Yes, it’s a cliché - but most clichés exist for a reason! And if you also feel like enjoying a hot air balloon ride, a weekend in the Hunter Valley just may be just what the doctor ordered.

This is a surprisingly affordable holiday for young couples to enjoy, but it’s also one that appeals to those of an earlier vintage. And you don’t have to travel far from Sydney to find this wonderfully remote holiday destination in Australia.

Cruise between tropical islands

If a low-maintenance holiday with oodles of relaxation is more your style, grab your boo and jump onboard a cruise ship.

Cruises around the Great Barrier Reef can create bucket list holidays for couples, without the price tag that often comes with independent travels. A beautiful beach holiday destination, check. Poolside lounging, check. Cosy cabins, check. What’s not to love?

*Watch this space, as soon as our cruising partners are up and running, we will have a bunch of great holiday options up for you to peruse. For now, why not check out this all-inclusive alternative.

Go on an outback glamping adventure

If we had to choose the most comfortable way to experience the Aussie Outback, we’d pick glamping every time.

Why? Because it’s one of the best luxury holiday ideas out there for couples. Unless you don’t like soaking up stunning landscapes from scenic flights and lavish tents, that is?

Take a campervan road trip

What if you’re a couple looking for cheap adventure holidays in Australia, and you also want to try some incredibly tasty local produce? Why not plan a road-trip in Tasmania? Road trips are on everyone’s travel experience bucket list, and there’s no better place to do one than Australia’s island state.

Stay in a five-star resort

When it comes to bucket list holidays for couples, five-star resort stays are a popular choice. For example, The Reef House MGallery by Sofitel in Tropical North Queensland is a boutique retreat on Palm Cove that never disappoints.

Enjoy some of Australia’s premier beaches, The Great Barrier Reef or just laze by one of two pools.

Sometimes the best things really are right in front of you

Or in this case, the best things are right there in your backyard. This massive country has so much to offer, and there’s never been a better time to book a holiday!
