Day 1 Beijing arrival
Upon your arrival at the Beijing airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and recover from jetlag.

Day 2 Beijing
On this day you will first visit Tiananmen Square followed by the magnificent Forbidden City. In the afternoon you will have a leisure walking tour in The Temple of Heaven.

--Tiananmen Square: It is the largest city square in the world and the spiritual heart of China, where the national flag is raised exactly at sunrise every day.

--The Forbidden City(Closed on Monday):It is located in the center of Beijing, used to be the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years, it is the grandest integral palace complex still remaining in China.

--The Temple of Heaven: It is the place which was visited yearly by the emperors who performed intricate rituals to insure a good harvest for the whole nation at ancient times.

Day 3 Beijing
You will visit to the magnificent Great Wall (Mutianyu section, round trip cable car included).

--Great Wall (Mutianyu Section):The most famous symbol of China and one of the world's most remarkable architectural wonders, it was built over 2,000 years ago and stretching about 6,700km.

--Mutianyu Cable Car (round way):Round-way cable car of Mutianyu Great Wall included. Chair-lift and Toboggan are also available. If you want to change to any of them, please inform the local guide before he or she purchases the tickets for round-trip cable car for you. Please pay the extra charge in cash to the local guide.

Day 4 Beijing – Xi’an High speed train, second class seat arranged by Trails of Indochina
After breakfast, you will visit one of the famous imperial gardens-Summer Palace (including boat cruise). And then you will be transferred to the train station for the speedy train to Xian (about 5 hours). Upon your arrival at Xian, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.

--Summer Palace (including 15-minute boat ride):Located on the northwestern outskirts of the city, it was an imperial summer resort of the Qing Dynasty. With its perfect layout, magnificent buildings and enchanting landscape, it is the most splendid classical garden in China.

Note:Boat ride is not available from Nov. 1st to April.1st because of the lake frozen.

Day 5 Xi’an
Today you will visit the incredible life-size Terracotta Warriors and the Ancient City Walls.

--Terracotta Warriors:Discovered in 1974 by local farmers digging a well, one of the most significant archeological finds of the 20th century. These 6,000 life-size painted terracotta warriors and horses --individually sculpted from real-life models and arranged in battle formation have been protecting the mausoleum of the first emperor in Chinese history—Emperor QinShihuang since 2,200 years ago.

--Jade Gallery:Jade, the most symbolic culture of China, its history is as long as Chinese civilization. In the jade gallery, you will get a general idea of jade's classification, color, quality, symbolic meaning etc. Each jade item here is well designed, skillfully carved, and carefully polished. From the largest item to the smallest one, every piece will attract your eyes and your camera.

--The Ancient City Walls:It is the largest and best-preserved ancient fortress in the world. It is also the thickest “wall” in the world, which you can drive golf car, take rickshaw and ride bicycle on the top.

Day 6 Xi’an
Today you will visit the Shaanxi History Museum (Closed on Monday) and Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the morning and then go to the Muslim Street and Great Mosque in the afternoon. --Shaanxi History Museum(Closed on Monday):Opened in 1991, the largest comprehensive museum in the province, the museum exhibits over 3,000 unearthed historical relics, a small fraction of their collection, most of the exhibited items are rare treasures, showing you the splendid Chinese culture. It is located in the northwest of the Xi’an Wild Goose Pagoda. --Big Wild Goose Pagoda:regarded by many as a symbol of the city, the pagoda was built in 652 A.D in Tang Dynasty to house the sutras brought back from India by the famous monk Xuan-zang. --Muslim Street:It is the center of the sizable Chinese-Muslim community in Xian. You will pass through a narrow bazaar street linked with shops selling a large variety of interesting local delicacies, snacks and souvenirs. It is also packed with small restaurants serving typical Muslim food.

--Great Mosque:the largest mosque in Xi'an and one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China with more than 1200 years' history, the mosque possesses not only traditional Chinese architectural style, but also features peculiar to Islamic mosques and now it is a major spot for religious activities of 50,000 Muslims in Xi'an.

Day 7 Xi’an – Shanghai - High speed train, second class seat arranged by Trails of Indochina
Today you will be free till your guide transfer you to the airport for flight to Shanghai. Upon your arrival, our tour guide will meet you at the airport and then escort you to the hotel.

Day 8 Shanghai
Ater breakfast, you will visit Yu Garden, Yu Market, the Bund, Jade Buddha Temple and Nanjing road.

--Yu Garden: Located in the Old Town of Shanghai and laid out in 1559 AD by a powerful Ming official, Yu Garden recreates a beautiful landscape of pagodas, pavilions, rockeries, fountains, ancient trees and precious flowers.

--Yuyuan Market: Outside the Yu Garden, a bustling market with different snacks and trinkets.

--The Bund:Where the great trading houses and banks had their headquarters in 1920s and 1930s, about a mile long, it is the city's fulcrum.

--Jade Buddha Temple: Named after its exquisite milk-white jade Buddha brought from Burma in the 19th century by a Chinese monk, it is a spiritual oasis in the midst of a modern metropolis.

--Nanjing Road: Known as "China's No.1 Shopping Street" with a huge of merchandise on sale, it is the main shopping street of Shanghai, running in a west-east direction.

Day 9 Shanghai
