Guide To Cruising

More than 1 million Australians go on a cruise every year and this figure continues to grow!

Cruises are so popular because they offer travellers:

1. Value

When you book a cruise, not only is accommodation and transport to your destination(s) included, so are meals, on-board activities and entertainment.

They offer great value for money and are a fantastic way to travel without blowing your budget.

2. Convenience

With cruises, all you need to do is show up at your port of departure and hop on board. Once there, you can indulge in an array of bars, restaurants, activities, entertainment while you cruise to your destination.

It’s also a great, hassle-free way to visit multiple destinations. You won’t need to unpack more than once. You won’t need to lug around your suitcase from place to place. And you won’t need to worry about missing your next plane, train or taxi.

Simply wake up to your next port-of-call or enjoy another gorgeous day at sea!

3. Variety

Passports

For Australian domestic cruises, no passport is required for Australian residents. However, passengers will need to provide a Government-issued photo ID when checking in.

For Australian residents travelling on an international cruise, a passport with at least 6 months validity beyond the date of the cruise return, is required.

What To Bring

Pack as you would for a typical holiday. This includes clothes, toiletries, chargers, cameras, medications, travel documents and sunscreen.

P&O Cruises offer themed parties on all their cruises and everyone is invited! Party themes vary according to the length of cruise. You can also purchase accessories and things for dress up fun onboard.

Please note most cruises will have dress codes for different times and parts of the ship. For example, you may be fine wearing shorts and thongs at the pool deck, but you may be required to wear smart casual clothing at the bar and restaurant. Make sure to check requirements on the cruise you book.

Please also check for any items which may be prohibited on-board the ship (e.g. flammable liquids, etc.)
