Day 2 New Delhi Highlights
We leave around 6:30 am for the meeting point of our morning bicycle tour.

Experience the sights and senses of Old Delhi as we weave through a web of streets and laneways barely changed from the seventeenth Century Mughal Empire, with the aroma of brewing tea and simmering breakfast curry as our companions.

We take in a Sikh temple, Jama Masjid, traditional spice markets and the contrast of the former British colonial areas with hectic Old Delhi.

Next, we stop for famous traditional Chai (Indian tea) and enjoy an Indian breakfast. We visit Sansad Bhavan (parliament house), India gate and Humayaun tomb, Ali Darwaza and the Red Fort before making our hotel. What better way to experience Indian culture than through the magic of Bollywood. Tonight we head to a local cinema to catch the latest Bollywood hit.

Day 3 New Delhi to Agra
After breakfast, we drive to Agra by road and arrive at our hotel around lunchtime.
This afternoon we visit the sights of Agra including the Agra (Red) Fort, one of the finest Mughal forts in India which is spread over 94 acres with massive walls up to 20 metres high, The Itmad Ud Daulah mausoleum overlooking the Yamuna River and finally the Taj Mahal the iconic symbol of India, built by Mughal emperor Sha Jahan to house the tomb of his beloved wife as a symbol of his eternal love.

Day 4 Agra to Mathura
After breakfast, we make our way to the sacred city of Mathura our home for the Holi and the birthplace of Lord Krishna. We make a small detour en route to visit the amazing abandoned former Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri.

Day 5 Mathura / Barsana (Laddoo Holi)
After Breakfast, we make or way to Barsana to celebrate Laddoo Holi in the village of Barsana. Laddoo Holi is celebrated the day before holi by local devotees gathering in temples throwing Laddu’s at each other. The day is filled with dance, colours, water flowers, and sweets.

Day 6 Mathura / Barsana (Lathmar Holi)
Today celebrates the traditional tale where Krishna leaves his village of Nandgaon and comes to Barsana to try and colour the women and capture the fort. However the local females attempted to stop them with sticks.

This mock battle is played out on the streets of Barsana and is a major feature of the local Holi celebration. We witness this spectacle before visiting local temples and the ghats to partake in local celebrations.

If you are game you can enjoy the local sweets or even try Bhaang (a chilled drink made from local cannabis).

Day 7 Mathura / Nandgaon (Lathmar Holi)
Not to be outdone, today the men of Barsana go to Nandgaon and the females attempt to stop them in the same way as the previous day. It is a colourful and joyous extravaganza and it portays the elements of love, respect and spirituality of Hinduism and is the culmination of three days celebration.
After the celebrations, we return to our hotel for the night.

Day 8 New Delhi
After breakfast, we check out and make our way back to Delhi where our afternoon is at leisure before we gather for a grand feast to celebrate the end of our amazing and colourful journey.

Day 9 Homeward Bound
After breakfast, we pack our bags check out and make our way to Indira Ghandi Airport for our flight home.
